Puppet Dialogue Animation

I picked the dumb babies for this project again and audio from Adventure Time, and then I did the thing.

For whatever reason, I could only export my video as .swf and it would play completely out of sync as a .mov. I tried importing it into premier and make it into an .mp4 and that's what I posted here. Part of the animation was clipped unfortunately.

Kanja - Walk Cycle

For this project, I picked my favorite periwinkle-haired jerk, Kanja (yes, again.) I used a silly little doodle I made on a p-chat several years ago as a reference.

I drew him in flash, made the puppet parts, and then animated them (with a lot of help and maybe some tears).

And then with some more help...

Kinetic Text

First, I picked out a line from one of my favorite movies The Science of Sleep. Then I worked out a rough video of how I wanted the animation to look

I then selected and downloaded the fonts for the animation, and made a reference template of the text in Illustrator.

After that, I began animating, and this was the outcome:

Frame by Frame Animation

I decided to use Kanja (what a surprise) for this. He works on a boat, so I figured I'd animate him tossing an anchor to secure the boat.

I started with a really loose sketch of the key points of the motion.

I then recorded a reference video.

And then I animated it! I started by animating the most drastic motions and then filling in the in-between frames-- et voila~!!

Stop Motion -- Anticipation

For our first project we had to make a stop motion video using one of the 12 principles of animation. I decided to go with anticipation! I used my character Kanja and my friend Sarah's little deer, Kida. I made everything out of construction paper and tinted certain areas with colored pencil. The clips were shot with a dslr directly into Dragon Frame and was then edited in Premiere Pro.

After Affects Ball Bounce

I decided to do something fun for my After Effects ball-bounce assignment. I chose the Colossal Titan character from Attack on Titan as my animation test subject :)
